About Me

I offer editorial services for fiction and nonfiction manuscripts, proposals, stories, articles, and essays. My interests and experience span a wide range of publishing categories, from cultural criticism to literary fiction, from young adult to narrative nonfiction. To learn more about how I can help you with your writing project, see Services, or feel free to Contact Me.

My natural impulse toward analysis as a reader first led me to pursue a career in academia, as a student of literature. But I soon realized that, more than anything else, I wanted to be part of literature-in-the-making, of the current moment of books and writing. After a few years with small, niche publishing companies, I moved to Janklow & Nesbit Associates, where I spent five years working with some of the most respected and admired writers being published today (including Jeffrey Eugenides, Ann Beattie, Tom Wolfe, and Joan Didion). My experience places me in the unique position of being able to approach a project from both sides of the book publishing industry, from the perspective of editor and agent. Though I am a literary romantic who loves stories and language and the craft that unites them, my editorial point of view is one of practicality: How can I help a writer make this project the best that it can be?
